About Us
ODAYA is a specialty Japanese tea and dessert brand, dedicated to providing high-quality matcha drinks, desserts, and authentic Japanese dining experiences. We are expanding our operations and looking for an experienced Central Kitchen Manager to join our passionate team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily Central Kitchen operations to ensure a smooth, efficient workflow.  
  • Plan and manage central kitchen production to ensure accurate, reliable production of desserts and confectioneries while consistently upholding Odaya’s quality standards.  
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and company operational standards.
  • Oversee recipe research and development.  
  • Manage staff rosters, shift planning, and performance evaluation.
  • Oversee/Handle inventory management, ordering, and stock control.
  • Monitor kitchen performance (production accuracy, efficiency, wastage) and implement improvements.  
  • Address and resolve kitchen staff issues professionally.  
  • Oversee kitchen staff training.
  • Communicate and cooperate effectively with retail, marketing, head office and other departments.  
  • Report directly to senior management and contribute ideas for production improvement.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant managerial or supervisory experience in central kitchen, bakery or patisserie operations.
  • Australian resident or citizen with legal working rights preferred.  
  • Visa sponsorship will be considered for exceptional applicants. 
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken); additional language skills (Japanese, Mandarin, Korean etc) advantageous.  
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Experience in staff training and performance management.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant POS and inventory management systems, basic financial reporting and office software systems.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends, public holidays, and evenings as required.
